Spring Fever

Betty officially has spring fever and she knows the only cure is sitting in the sun and drinking some seasonal cocktails, her favorite being the Mojito. Betty first tried the drink while vacationing in Cuba with her husband shortly after they were married; now every time she takes a sip she is transported back to Havana. This weekend mix up some fun with bright barware, lime juice, soda, and rum.

When entertaining Betty always takes out her avocado green icemaker. It is a must-have for any cocktail party!

Classic Mojito:

6 freshly washed mint leaves

2 teaspoons bar sugar

¾ ounces fresh lime juice

Soda water

Muddle the mint, sugar, and lime juice in a tall glass. Add rum. Fill glass with ice. Top with soda. Garnish with mint sprigs.

  1. Those of us who don't want to tip off of our heels will have limeade, but we still want an umbrella in it!
