Jadeite Kitchenware!

With it's milky green color, Jadeite is one of Betty's favorite collectibles. And if you love retro kitchenware, it is a must have! Betty acquired her first piece after buying a bag of flour which came with a small jadeite jar. She loved it so much she decided to purchase the rest of the set. It wasn't long before Betty moved on to collecting dishes, cake stands, mixing bowls and more. The glassware, which became hugely popular in the 1940's and 50's, was mostly produced by The Anchor Hocking Company as part of their Fire-King line. You can find lots of amazing examples on Etsy!

The Golden State

Betty may be an East Coast gal, but her fondness for California is deep. She visits The Golden State at least once a year. Whether spending time in Palm Springs or San Francisco, she always makes sure to soak up some West Coast sun which is why she loves the retro feel of this letterpress poster. From paperparasol, it would look great in any mid-century modern ranch!

Betty loves everything about Easter but her favorite part of the holiday is dressing up! Every year she looks fabulous in a brightly colored spring outfit complete with hat and gloves. And her daughter always looks adorable in a cute Easter frock. This year dress in your retro Sunday best!

When you think of 1950's and 60's living one thing that is sure to come to mind is the patio. No mid-century housewife would own a house without one and Betty is no exception. All spring and summer she does most of her entertaining outside and takes much pride in her outdoor decor. You don't sew, so what! Buttons aren't just for making clothes and quilts. Betty thinks they are a must-have for crafting. The possibilities are endless so get creative! If you are at a loss, start simple - Betty loves these decorated paper clips! Of course, with all these great vintage colors you could just start a button collection.

Just mailing a letter may feel retro nowadays but take some advise from Betty and always send a thank you note to show your appreciation. These vintage looking cards are a great way to let someone know you are grateful for their gift or their hospitality. Keep your stationary and supplies organized with a mod letter or pencil holder. And, if you really want to be like Betty, write your letter on a classic typewriter and use old-fashioned stamps!
